The idea to celebrate Lemon’s birthday came too late. At first, I didn’t plan to celebrate it, at all. First, because I thought Lemon is too young to understand. Second, because I was so busy with the closing project and another job I decided to take. So, a cake with a candle and pray will be just fine.
It was me and Bapak (it refers to Dwi, my husband), talked about it in the late afternoon, after-hours. I forgot who came up with the idea, but then we decided to celebrate it. It’s not gonna be a big party. It will be a party attended by close friends and family, well, including Lemon’s friends.
I asked my aunt to prepare the tumpeng, rendang, sayur asem and es cendol. I ordered the birthday cake and cupcakes from mbak Yuli (here is the link to her webstore: http://bundacorner-cakery.blogspot.com/), bought the snacks (candies, popcorn, donut and marshmellow) at the shop near pasar modern, ordered tupperware for the goodie bag from my cousin.
This party is fully supported by Dimas Basunondo (you can see his portfolio, here: http://dhims.carbonmade.com/). I thank him for everything he has done for me. He made the invitation, goodie bag-thanks card, the accessories for the desert table and lots of ideas, including the wall of wishes. Dimas told me to prepare a space where the guests can write their wishes for Lemon
I also made a photo-booth for the guests and prepare my instax mini, so that hey can pose and bring the photo home!
My Mom set the food on the floor! LOL. “Nih, pada makan bareng-bareng aja di bawah ya”, she said. So, while the kids playing outside, the moms, pops and our friends enjoyed the food. FYI, my aunt’s sayur asem, rendang and krecek pedes are the best!
Lemon looked so confused and cranky at first but in the end she enjoyed the party, just like we did
Thank you so much, dear friends!
